I want to go through a rehabilitation program for drugs and alcohol. I want to start again with my life and I would be detoxified and sober is my first step to recovery. I'm worried about the future, however. I wonder how long the program because I want to be fit in time when my sister was married to Sam (who is 6 weeks). Please help. Thanks. I suggest you make an appointment with the facility that are more interested in being confirmed. It will provide you with realistic goals and the facts about rehabilitation. Each person is different, and not just go to rehab, which makes cleaning it is the desire not to return to the kind of behavior. Really wants is an important first step and clean. Good luck! Well, it depends on the duration of the treatment program you choose. A short-term treatment is about 40 to 10 weeks, while a long-term treatment takes about 10 weeks, almost a year. Come to think of it, you really have time in your hands I think if you back faster than you would be released earlier. I hope you make it your sister's wedding. My sister will kill me if I did not participate. OMG, it's awesome. I am full, a non-practicing drunk. The program is entirely up to you. Six weeks when you really want. Go for it! You can go outpatient, but if you need a lot of power. I would suggest at least four weeks in hospital, but all this depends on you. Physically about a week. my friend! It is not the time you spend in a rehab clinic that matters. It is a matter of life and death you have in your hands now. make an appointment with a rehabilitation center, to tell everything (how long, how much, what drugs and the like) and they will tell you how much time you need. Your sister is lucky if you recover when you are present at their wedding in an unfinished state. Recovery is a lifelong process and does not end in six weeks or six years of patience. Belief in a higher power, and you will be surprised how things you do when you are ready to happen. Bravo! I applaud you. I am a recovering addict Xanax and Valium. It is very difficult. I fell twice, but now I have been sober for three months. I decided I just had enough of these pills that my life aside and checked myself into a rehab center to hunt. Depending on what you trust, and your tolerance for alcohol and drugs may take longer than six weeks. In September last year (2006), I got myself into, and there was no party. But if you stick with it and really want to take control of your life without drugs for self-medication, you probably feel the pain inside, all power to you. In my recovery, they said I was always a "recovering addict." The detox takes about four weeks, again depending on what you use. But the programs and the staff was so great.
