Can you be fired from your job while in drug rehabilitation?

I wonder if employers and terminate your contract if you go into a rehab for drugs. Nothing illegal, they are not required, but need help withdrawal from them. We are from WV and my husband I had a back injury, he talked about 10 years ago and was w / her employer for seven or eight years.
